Microsoft showed the latest footage from Rise of the Tomb Raider at the E3 2015 conference earlier this month and fans of the franchise can’t wait to play the next game which is exclusive to Xbox for the holiday 2015 season. In good old Internet fashion, Youtube video game graphics analyses popped up pretty quickly. One channel ran their ‘software’ and came to the conclusion that Rise of The Tomb Raider ran at 900p 30FPS during the E3 showing. Nothing exceptional right? You’d be wrong.
Brian Horton the head of Crystal Dynamics officially posted the video on Twitter with the line ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider analyses at 1080p’. He was quickly corrected by the public saying the demo ran at 900p according to said site, to which he replied that it in fact ran at 1080p.
Resolutiongate has been a hot topic in recent times with gamers quickly pointing out that the Xbox One runs games at 900p in most cases. However from public tests by many big gaming sites, people couldn’t tell the difference and it seems graphics analyst groups could not as well. Graphic analyses have become the new ‘Lets Play’ on Youtube with sites like Digital Foundry becoming the places most gamers lean on in technical terms when it comes to resolution and frames per second .
Rise of the Tomb Raider will launch on November 10th this year exclusive to Xbox.
