Microsoft has been having a great holiday season. The Xbox One had a strong Black Friday and now it appears that the one-time underdog of the tablet world- the Surface Pro- may have surpassed the iPad in online sales for the month of October.
Online sales is the key word here. In a story originally published by WinBeta, online hardware sales from the top 100 online retailers was tracked by analytics firm 1010data. As you can see in the graph below, Apple experienced a steep decline in iPad sales in September while Microsoft saw a spike in Surface tablet sales around the same time.
Microsoft released the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book on October 6th of this year. While Apple has seen its tablet computer sales decline the iPad still has the most market share for 2015.
