Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is a spinoff title based on the Gwent game inside The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In just a couple of months, it’s getting a standalone single-player campaign called Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. You won’t need to wonder when you’ll get to play it, as the release date for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales has been announced. PC users will get to play it on October 23rd, 2018, while Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers will get their hands on it on December 4th, 2018.

Check out the story teaser for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales below:

From the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt comes a brand new tale set in the brutal and twisted universe of witcher Geralt of Rivia.

The world stands on the verge of chaos, as the tensions between the power-hungry Nilfgaardian Empire and proud Northern Realms grow. Facing an imminent invasion, Meve — war-veteran Queen of Lyria and Rivia — is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

If you’re on PC, it’s important to note that it won’t be available through Steam but instead through GOG.

CD Projekt Red has stated that The Witcher is one of the franchises they’ll continue to grow alongside the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077. Presumably they’ll continue to release smaller games like this in addition to their larger titles.
