Nintendo Switch players can now register for a Splatoon 2 North American Online Open Winter 2020 tournament. This tournament is for players who reside in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. If you’re in Quebec you can’t play, Nintendo doesn’t give an explanation for that. Players from these three countries need to put together a team of four players. If you do well enough, you can play at the Splatoon 2 event at the Genesis 7 tournament in Oakland Ca. This tournament starts on January 24th – 26th, winners will also receive transportation to the Genesis 7 tournament.
Registration for the Splatoon 2 tournament ends on January 11th at 9 a.m. PT, this still gives yous some time to find a team. Click this link here to find a team to fight with, also make sure you list one optional player. All the instructions will be on the registration site, so don’t stress about that. Right now 148 teams have registered for the tournament.
The tournament will begin right when registration ends at 9 AM on January 11th. Players will jump into Turf War Qualifiers. After that is finished, players who have won will continue on in the Top Eight and the Finals starting on January 12th at 9 a.m. PT. Don’t forget that you do need to be a part of the Nintendo Online subscription service to play in this Splatoon 2 tournament. In fact, you need to be apart of the online service to play just about every game online.
