There is no doubt that when Rockstar releases a game, everyone who plays video games whether they consider themselves a casual player or a hardcore enthusiast is itching to buy it. This has been demonstrated as GTA V continues to sell at an astounding rate and GTA: Online still has a huge and growing community to this day. It appears that Rockstars most recent release Red Dead Redemption 2 is not selling at the same rate, it is still doing insanely well. During Rockstar’s parent company’s Take-Two’s earnings call earlier this week they confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold 24 million copies. While this is only up 1 million units in the past 3 months. While sales are slowing down, this is still a very impressive feat. Keeping in mind that the original Red Dead Redemption took 8 years to sell 9 million copies. A number that Red Dead Redemption 2 shattered just after its October 26th, 2019 launch.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has now hit 24 million copies sold-in since release in October, according to Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive.
Within its first 2 weeks, it passed 17 million units. As of last quarter, it was at 23 million.

With Red Dead Redemption 2: Online getting massive updates this week and leaving beta in the upcoming weeks, it should be interesting to see how this affects the sales trend for the title.
