The saga of Xbox One exclusive Phantom Dust continues as Microsoft Studios’s Aaron Greenberg reveals an update on the game. In an interview with Gamertagradio , Greenberg states that “(Phantom Dust) has been a passion project for Phil and a lot of folks on the team and we are currently exploring what we are going to do in the long term. The project is not canceled. We don’t have an active developer on it right now”.
Phantom Dust did have a developer in the form of Darkside Games, but their version of the game was mysteriously canceled earlier this year which lead to the studio being shut down. However, shortly after the news came out Greenberg stated on Twitter that Phantom Dust is stil in development.
It comes as a bit of a surprise that Microsoft apparently has no new developer for the much anticipated reboot. Though Greenberg’s most recent statement does make it seem like Microsoft is actively searching for a replacement.
What do you think? Will we see Phantom Dust soon, will it become Microsoft’s The Last Guardian or should we all just forget about the game?
