Meet Chris Taylor. Just like many of us, he was very excited to “settle it in Smash” when he saw the announcement for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sadly, Chris is terminally ill with cancer and earlier this year refused to undergo further treatment for his condition. As news about the game continued to roll out he was painfully aware that he may no longer be with us when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is officially released in December. Chris expressed his fears on social media and a campaign began to persuade Nintendo to let him play the game.
The news about Chris Taylor and the campaign did in fact reach the executives at Nintendo of America. They secretly reached out to Chris and quietly brought over a Switch console loaded with the E3 demo of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. For three hours Chris got to play the game with two of his friends, Benjamin and Zach.

The smile on Chris’ face is heartwarming to see and kudos to Nintendo of America for making this happen. It is a nice reminder that a little bit of humanity can make a huge difference for others.
