Microsoft Wifi for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS and Windows Phone

Microsoft is planning to role out a service they call Microsoft Wifi to millions of people across the globe. A Microsoft spokesperson told Venturebeat” “We can confirm that we are working on a new service, called Microsoft WiFi, that will bring hassle-free Wi-Fi to millions.” Venturebeat was able to grab a screenshot from https://www.microsoftwifi.com/, which since has taken down and displaying a “coming soon” logo on the page.

If anyone is familiar with Skype Wifi, this seems to be a rebranding of sorts which will allow all devices Windows, Mac, Android, iOS and Windows Phone operating systems a “hassle-free Internet” solution by allowing user to utilize public hotspots. Similar to Skype Wifi the Microsoft Wifi app will use an “interactive map” to locate hotspots in which you connect to.

At launch these hotspots will only be made available for Skype Wifi subscribers, users of Microsoft Office 365 for Enterprise and other special WIFI offers which Microsoft can provide to customers.

More info to come when the service is released..

While I do not think we will be fragging on Halo 5 over this network I do think it shows Microsoft continuing to be platform agnostic and functioning more as a service to embrace users into their ecosystem and devices.
