Images from The Witcher Netflix series revealed

The fine folks over at Netflix have released the first batch of images from their upcoming original series, The Witcher. As you have probably guessed, the series is indeed based on the video game franchise of the same name developed by CD Projekt Red and stars Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) as Geralt.

The first season of The Witcher series will consist of eight episodes and each one will be about one hour in length. We do not have an official release date as of this writing but Netflix says the show will debut sometime during the fourth quarter of this year.

Any Chalotra (The ABC Murders) has been cast as Yennefer while Freya Allan (The War of the Worlds, Gunpowder Milkshake) will play Ciri.

The most recent video game in the franchise, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold over 20 million copies to date and will be released for the Nintendo Switch later this year. The franchise as a whole has sold over 40 million copies worldwide. It will probably be a while before we see a new game in The Witcher series as CD Projekt Red is hard at work on Cyberpunk 2077. If you want to learn more about that game, check out Sam’s E3 coverage of the title. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the images from The Witcher series below.
