Matias Myllyrinne, the CEO of Remedy Entertainment, is set to leave from the studio after 15 years of service. Myllyrinne worked with Remedy on games such as the Max Payne series and Alan Wake.
Remedy is working on the Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break. The CEO’s departure may lead some to worry about the game, but Myllyrinne states that “The studio is in good standing and will go on to great things. Quantum Break looks amazing and the team is working hard to build it into the game that you deserve. It will be worthy of the Remedy brand.”
Myllyrinne is heading off to Wargaming, the team that makes World of Tanks. His farewell post to Remedy and its fans can be read here.
Some have theorized that Myllyrinne is leaving ahead of a potential purchase of Remedy by Microsoft; while Microsoft & Remedy have had a close relationship together, it is currently just speculation.
