Anime lovers who happen to own a Nintendo Switch will soon be able to get their fix on the console. According to a tweet from Rogers Base at the C2E2 panel, Funimation has announced that their FunimationNow app will be available on the Nintendo Switch. No official launch date has been announced yet but stay tuned – we will be sure to let you know when it is available.
The FunimationNow app lets you stream anime shows. For $5.99 per month (or $59.99 annually) you can watch all of the anime movies and series you want without any advertisements. There is also an option for a free account but the selection of shows is limited and there will be advertisements. Funimation even has an agreement with CrunchyRoll meaning that some anime that was previously only available on CrunchyRoll can be viewed on the FunimationNow app. One cool aspect of FunimationNow is they typically show broadcast dubs of their titles so those of you who do not speak much Japanese can still enjoy the shows and movies.
