Forza Motorsport 6 Multiplayer Still Broken, No fix in Sight [UPDATE]

*Update: The latest update (10/11/2015) fixed this issue with the Multiplayer matchmaking issues. Both Multiplayer and Leagues work on our systems in South Africa with 198ms ping.

If you’re one of theĀ Forza Motorsport fans who ran out to buy the latest title from Turn 10, and came home and couldn’t play online, you’re not alone. Since the game’s release there’s been an outcry about the broken Multiplayer mode in game. I myself can’t get into a Multiplayer game unless a US or UK based player invites me to one.

The Forza Motorsport 6 forum on the issue haven’t been updated in 12 days by Turn 10 and simply shows the following message:

Hi everyone,

We are aware that a number of players are experiencing issues with multiplayer in Forza Motorsport 6. This can include server connectivity issues, inability to load multiplayer match lists, and other issues. I want to let you know that Turn 10 is investigating all cases that have been reported, whether via Twitter, in this FM6 Support forum, or elsewhere. As we continue to investigate, I wanted to provide some very general guidelines that I’m hoping will help some of you.

If you see these error messages: “Failed to get server list” or “Failed to get match server list,” this means that we did not find any datacenters under our current latency limit for ensuring a quality multiplayer experience. We are aware of this issue that some players are running into and are currently investigating.

If you see these error messages: “Failed to acquire server data” or “Failed to connect to server” or “Disconnected from server” it may indicate an issue with your router or home network configuration. For help please go to http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/games/forza-motorsport-6-info, select ā€œLag or poor performance in multiplayer gamesā€ and follow the provided troubleshooting steps.

Thanks again for continuing to report these issues.

Brian

As an avid Forza Motorsport and Horizon player, these multiplayer connection issues is quite odd, since both Forza Motorsport 5 and Horizon 2 worked and still do. Turn 10 does note that they have a latency limit on their servers at the moment, but with players having issues in the US as well, brings a sour taste to our mouths. It also seems implausible since I can play (with a 198ms Ping) when someone invites me to a multiplayer game.

As of this article, the Forza Forums and their Twitter account haven’t mentioned anything about a possible fix. Forza Motorsport 6 launched on the 15th of September, and no patches have been issued except for the Day One patch.
