Far Cry: Primal Announced

After a cryptic live stream full of cave paintings and a few leaks, Ubisoft has revealed Far Cry: Primal, the next entry in the popular Far Cry series.

This next entry is a departure from previous games where players fought both nature and pirates/terrorists in modern days, now the players will fight back in prehistoric times.

Ubisoft has released a trailer for the game which features several ancient humans (or “cavemen”) and several prehistoric animals including wooly mammoths and saber tooth tigers. The game will be a survival game at the most basic level as the main goal of the game will be to “survive in a world where humans are the prey.” Sadly, it seems like Ubisoft is aiming for this game to be more realistic so don’t expect to take on any dinosaurs in the game, as the dinosaurs were extinct long before humans came along.

While the last Far Cry spin-off, 2013’s Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon , was a download only game, Ubisoft has said that Far Cry: Primal will be a full fledged single player experience.

Far Cry: Primal will release on February 23, 2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
