Electronic Arts Takes “Wait and See” Approach for Switch

Ever wanted to see Star Wars Battlefront grace the Nintendo Switch console? Well, you may have to wait a while for that to happen. In a move that gives Nintendo fans deja vu, Electronic Arts will be waiting until next March before deciding to provide further support for the platform. They recently released FIFA 18 for the console, which is a port that is more on par with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions than it is with the Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 4 versions. EA has since believed a year must pass before they can proceed with any plans for it.

While EA played a big role as a AAA publisher for the Wii back when it was Nintendo’s hottest console, it quietly backed out of support during the Wii U era after releasing titles like Madden 13 on the console during its initial year. EA said that they are in no rush to develop more games until at least one year has passed and they ‘fully understand what the demand is’ for the console. It was apparently too soon to judge how well FIFA 18 had performed on the system.
