Daniel Craig Likely to Return as James Bond

Even though he reportedly has one more film left on his contract, it’s been up in the air for a while now whether Daniel Craig will actually once again button up his tuxedo to take on the iconic role of James Bond. According to reports though, Craig has agreed to join the production for the 25th Bond movie which may potentially shoot next year.

In 2015, during the press junkets for Spectre, his fourth outing as the international spy, Craig was less than enthused about taking on the role again. In fact he infamously said that he would “rather slash my wrists” than do another James Bond film. Craig went on to say he would only do another Bond movie for the money. Of course that was in the aftermath of what must have been a tough shoot and a worldwide tour to promote it. With a bit of breathing room to consider his options it now appears he’s decided to finish what he started with what promises to be a spectacular movie for Bond’s 25th outing. Craig certainly wouldn’t be the first star to come back to a franchise after publicly denying it. He’s not even the first Bond to do it either!

It’s also been alleged that famous Bond producer Barbara Broccoli wants to bring back Adele into the fold to sing the theme tune. The combination of Bond and Adele in 2012’s Skyfall gave Bond (and Sony) its most profitable income ever with over $1 billion at the international box office. Her song Skyfall was also the first Bond theme to win at the Brits, Grammys, Golden Globes, and the Academy Awards. No doubt the hope is that the combination of these two stars would increase hype and bring people back to the cinemas, especially after the last James Bond movie, Spectre, only received middling reviews.

Bond 25 may potentially begin filming next year. No release date has been given yet.
