Fresh from San Diego Comic Con (courtesy of YouTube user “Yoshiller”) is a direct feed of gameplay footage from the hotly anticipated game for the Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Odyssey! This demo has been shown off aplenty by this point, but here you can look at the game itself without any background noise or anything like that. It’s native game capture, and it’s how the game will look in coming months. You can watch the gameplay footage below.
It shows off plenty of interesting elements and details, such as the general atmosphere of New Donk City and various places where Moon Pieces are hiding. Mario’s abilities are seen in action as well; from his moves hailing from the Super Mario 64 days to the new cap powers that allow him to “cap-ture” things for the player’s advantage. It’s a bit of a shame that the demo is only usable for ten minutes. Given the sheer quantities of people that come to these conventions, it’s safe to say it’s justified!
What do you think about all this? Is Mario’s return to 64/Sunshine-esque 3D platforming tickling or continuing to tickle your fancy? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
