Box Office Recap: Glass Defeats The Kid Who Would Be King This Weekend

This weekend, the movie Glass took the top spot again. Other movies that where released didn’t make much of a splash. The Kid Who Would Be King fell short of grossing $10 million this weekend. This movie is another retailing of the classic story of boy who pulls Excalibur from the stone. It did great with critics and as you can see, didn’t do so well in theaters.

Out of the two movies that did get released this weekend, only one grossed over $5 million. Serenity grossed at estimated $4.5 million during this stale weekend. Dragon Ball Super: Broly grossed an estimated $3.6 million as it nears $100 million at the world-wide box office. The fact that the movie made almost $30 million domestically is a great sign for future anime releases.

Weekend Top Three

3. Aquaman $7.3 million

2. The Upside $12.2 million

1. Glass $19 million

Next weekend Glass should easily continue its run as the top movie. Only one movie will be released in more than 2000 theaters. That movie is Miss Bala. Here on the site we are starting to review more than just video games. We have something new called David’s Drive-In. This is where we as a site will be reviewing movies from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Redbox. Hopefully our first review out helps you realize some movies shouldn’t be watched.
