While CD Projekt Red has grown quite a bit over the last few years (including opening a new support studio) they still partner will different established publishers to distribute their games in various markets. In a press release, CD Projekt Red confirmed that Bandai Namco will distribute Cyberpunk 2077 in Europe.
Details on how Bandai Namco will distribute Cyberpunk 2077 in Europe:
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe will distribute Cyberpunk 2077 in 24 European countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Malta, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
Michał Nowakowski, SVP of Business Development and Member of the Board for CD Projekt, said that “Our current distribution partnership with BANDAI NAMCO is built on the strong foundation and trust developed during our previous projects. We’ve successfully cooperated on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and I’m convinced BANDAI NAMCO will take good care of Cyberpunk 2077.”
Alberto González Lorca, VP Southern Europe and Biz Dev of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, said that “CD PROJEKT RED has become, in just a few years, one of the leading studios in this sector with a truly innovative approach to each game and we are both proud and excited to confirm that we’ll be part of the Cyberpunk 2077 project. We’re looking forward to working once again with CD PROJEKT RED and distribute another of its games in Europe, providing first-class services to one of the most eagerly awaited games of the coming years.”
Bandai Namco distributed The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Europe before, so continuing this partnership makes sense. Warner Bros. is fulfilling a similar role and distributing Cyberpunk 2077 in North America. For more information on Cyberpunk 2077, be sure to check out the gameplay that was released here.
