Bad Boys for Life takes third weekend at box office

This weekend Bad Boys for Life has continued to take the top spot. The amount of money that was brought in is alarming for the movie industry. $17.6 million was brought in at the top spot. The movie has topped the other two Bad Boys movies, making this the highest-grossing film in the franchise.

Gretel & Hansel and The Rythem Section both tanked this weekend. The movies grossed under $10 million together. January really is the month that movies go to die at the box office. With the rough month that January has been, I would have expected more people at the theaters ignoring the problems around them. Looks like the movie selection just isn’t enough to get those viewers in. Bad Boys for Life is definitely a success with the movie sitting at $290 million worldwide.

Next weekend we only have one movie being released in a large number of theaters. Birds of Prey will be coming out on February 7th. Some of the buzz around this movie has been extremely positive. So expect a decent opening weekend. The first trailer for Fast and Furious 9 has been released. Take a look at the returning characters, it seems someone didn’t really die in Toyko Drift. Han survived his car accident? What in the hell is going on in this movie? I can’t wait for May 22nd to see what happens.
