Akira Live Action Film Delayed Indefinitely

If you were looking forward to the Akira live-action film, we have a bit of bad news for you. Warner Bros. has announced that the live-action film will be delayed indefinitely. According to sources director, Taiko Waititi’s decision to devote his time to Marvel’s Thor 4 left some at the studio scratching their heads, as they were “surprised” that Waititi made this decision with it being so close to starting filming the classic anime.

This is another huge setback for the film as some diehard fans in the anime community were already skeptical, to begin with. Hopefully once Taiko Waititi finishes Thor 4 he will then return to the Akira film since it was slated to make its debut in 2021. Personally, I’m still looking forward to the film, but given the latest issues going on with the production and Hollywood’s horrible track record on live-action anime, adaptations aren’t helping either. Let us know what you think about the delay in the comment section below, and do you think with all the current issues if the film will one not only be good but also release.
