In a sharp contrast to the developer’s often-repeated stance that A Hat in Time would never be released on Nintendo Switch, the game will in fact make it the platform. The announcement was made via a special livestream held earlier today by the developers, Gears for Breakfast. This reveal follows other surprises that occurred throughout the stream including the upcoming DLC for the PC version which implements multiplayer co-op and an expansion titled “Seal the Deal”.

There is not yet any word whether the DLC also announced would make it to the Nintendo Switch version of the game. It is possible that the DLC may arrive at a later date. After all, there is no release date just yet for the upcoming Switch release. Regardless, fans of the game that wish to take it on the go can sigh in relief now that it’s finally been confirmed to head to Nintendo’s beloved hybrid. Given A Hat in Time‘s 3D platforming elements and charm, the game may find itself right at home in the house of Mario. Hopefully, it will not be long before Nintendo owners will be able to dive into this love letter to platformers of yesteryear.
