Yooka-Laylee is coming to the Nintendo Switch soon and Playtonic says that this will be the best version of the game so far. Switch owners will be able to download the game on December 14th while a physical release is still coming sometime in the future. Check out the tweet from the developers:

If you backed the game during the Kickstarter campaign and chose the Switch version (after the Wii U version was canceled) then you should have your code by the time the game launches.
The Switch version of the game is said to have a more consistent frame rate than previous versions and boasts an achievement system plus all of the features from the last major update on other platforms. Yooka-Laylee runs in 600p while the Switch is in handheld mode and 900p when the system is docked.
