This weekend Wonder Woman dominated the box office. The amount of domestic money earned was a drop from last week but it was enough to keep The Mummy at second place.
Wonder Woman scored $57 million this weekend, that brings the total for the movie up to $205 domestic and $435 million worldwide. This movie can easily get close to that billion mark, I bet it will even do better then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. The Mummy was released this weekend to some decent reviews. It seemed like it wouldn’t even make over $100 million worldwide. The movie did take in $32 million domestically and $141 in the foreign markets. This places The Mummy right at $174 million worldwide. It has already done better then some of the worst flops this year.
Weekend Top Five
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 $6.2 million
4. Pirates of the Caribbean 5 $10.7 million
3. Captain Underpants $12 million
2. The Mummy $32 million
1. Wonder Woman $57 million
The other movies that released this weekend included It Comes At Night, and Megan Leavey. These two did decently enough in a packed summer season. Next weekend Cars 3 will be close to taking the top spot. 47 Meters Down, All Eyez On Me, and Rough Night all get large releases. I can see The Mummy and Wonder Woman battling for number one as Cars 3 takes in the rest of the market.
The final Cars 3 trailer was released this week. The big trailer that came out was another Marvel movie, Black Panther. This movie has gotten a huge amount of hype from this trailer. 2018 just seems to far away.
