The crowdfunded open work indie-rpg Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem has become available for PC players on Steam. If the name Wolcen seems different it actually started out as Umbra, which gained over 11,000 backers during it’s Kickstarter campaign.

Wolcen:Lords of Mayhem is being developed by Wolcen Stuido. Wolcen Studio formally known as Solarfall Games has developed a graphical masterpiece by using CRYENGINE technology. Wolcen will allow players to explore large segments of it’s open world. The Early Access version of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem will introduce players to the fundamentals of lore, hack and slash gameplay, and progression systems. As development continues players can expect a full Co-op experience, advanced weapon and armor crafting. Players will also be introduced to player housing. The ability to transform a players house into a challenging dungeon that can be shared will the community will also be in development for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem.
Set in a dystopian land of fantasy, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem follows a former army officer turned fugitive. Players will find themselves on the run from authorities after mysteriously acquiring magical powers. The price for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is currently set at $19.99. Wolcen is currently only available for PC users only.
Wolcen Studios explained to Steam why they felt Early Access was a great match for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem-

There is no private investor or publisher behind us, and we want to continue that way to keep a full control on the creative work we do. We want to take risk, bring some new features to the hack and slash genre and discuss with players about the best solution for our game.”
