The fine folks over at Warner Bros. have released the final trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller, Joker. You can watch the new trailer for yourself below:
The new movie will indeed be an origin story for one of the most iconic villains in pop culture history. It won’t be part of the traditional DC extended universe populated by the likes of Aquaman or even Shazam! though. Joker will be part of the DC Black series which will exist in their own separate universe.
The film features Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a man who pursues his dream of becoming a stand-up comedian during the 1980s. All of the setbacks he endures causes him to lose his sanity and he goes on to pursue a life of crime as the clown we all know and love.
I am not sure how I feel about the Joker getting a sympathetic origins story but I think I will check this one out in theaters. How do you feel about this new approach to the illustrious clown prince of crime?
