If you were to browse YouTube or Twitter you might think that the latest film in the current Star Wars trilogy, The Last Jedi, was the worst movie in the entire franchise. However, movie fans seem to be more forgiving in the real world. It turns out that The Last Jedi is the best selling Blu-ray movie of 2018 with over 3 million copies sold. That works out to nearly $70 million spent on copies of The Last Jedi.
Black Panther is the second most popular movie sold on Blu-ray this year with over 2.6 million copies making their way into customers’ hands. The third place film is Thor: Ragnarok while Coco and The Greatest Showman take fourth and fifth place respectively. It turns out that Disney is having a phenomenal year with their movies business. Just look at how many of the top-selling movies of 2018 come from the House of Mouse.

The Last Jedi did not do quite as well on the DVD market. It is currently in 6th place with over 850,000 copies sold. Don’t feel bad for Disney, though. Their movies are still dominating the Top 10 with Black Panther leading the way at over one million copies sold.
