Just a few weeks ago, The Ember Series: A New Fire released on Steam for Early Access. Touted as an old school RPG, the action adventure game features five friends who venture into the world of Mörja. When one goes missing, it is up to the other four to use their new-found magic and weapons to rescue him.
Early reviews of The Ember Series are positive, with praises directed towards the storyline. Developers Forthright Entertainment say the game will have at least 50 hours for the main story line with over 100 for side quests, stories, and history. The combat system is a hybrid D20 CTB with a tent system for resting and healing and five base classes, all with their own story lines. All character designs are custom with over 300 unique monsters and enemies.
The demo originally released back in July, with Early Access coming in late August. A patch was released yesterday, September 5th.
