Ubisoft announced that, in the first days of The Division launch that it already smashed all records for any IP held by the company. Although they haven’t issued actual numbers, the game is already rocketing up the charts on the digital store, and held the number one spot on Amazon for several weeks.
Ubisoft is taking direct aim at the success Destiny had, with similar gameplay and elements situated in New York City. The game will feature several content updates coming this year, and Ubisoft seems to be aiming to take on the same update model as Destiny, hopefully being more successful.
The Division launched on March 8th on Xbox One and other platforms. DLC and expansions will arrive on Xbox One 30 days before any other platform.
