During X018, Richard Foge from Undead Labs revealed the upcoming State of Decay 2 Zedhunter update. This new update will be free for all players when it releases.

As announced at X018, post-apocalyptic world you know is expanding. With new swords like Wraith, Mamba, and Masterwork Bokken and new consumables such as Zedbait, Zedeye, and Zedrenaline, you’ll experience new ways to build your community, fight off rival players, and kill zombies. All in pursuit of the ultimate goal: survival.
The announcement trailer for State of Decay 2 Zedhunter update also confirmed that State of Decay 2 has hit 4 million players. Previously, State of Decay 2 received more DLC through the Daybreak pack and the Independence pack. Earlier this year, Richard Foge talked to us about how the landscape had changed for Undead Labs due to being acquired by Microsoft Studios.
