We’ve had a ton of news to report on State of Decay 2 over the last several days. We’ve got even more today, as the State of Decay 2 Xbox One X enhancements have been unveiled, courtesy of IGN, with their ongoing IGN First for all things regarding State of Decay 2.
Undead Labs talks about the State of Decay 2 Xbox One X enhancements:Â
“There are significant visual enhancements we’re able to deliver thanks to the Xbox One X. Extra memory and greater processing power gives us a more stable framerate and lets us do more with higher resolution textures. When you’re in the game, you’ll immediately see the difference – denser foliage, detailed shadows, depth of light from farther distances and more detailed character models. It makes the world feel more crisp, vibrant and like real life. And of course, it lets us run the game in 4K and HDR, which a lot of fans are excited about” said Jeff Strain, Undead Labs studio head.
When IGN asked if there were plans for optional settings, like Graphics Mode or Performance Mode in games like Gears of War 4, Undead Labs confirmed no such plans were in place.
These are great benefits for Xbox One X owners, so it’s good to see Undead Labs taking full advantage of the system. That said, I’m a huge proponent of allowing fans to choose framerate over graphics, so I hope 60fps becomes a possibility for Xbox One X users later down the line. State of Decay 2 releases on May 22nd, 2018 for Xbox One and Windows 10.
