Stardew Valley Arrives on Switch This Week

Developer ConcernedApe has announced that Stardew Valley will be available on the Nintendo Switch very soon. This version of the popular country-life RPG releases on October 5, 2017.

After inheriting their grandfather’s farm, the protagonist moves to Stardew Valley. From there, players are free to do whatever they want. In addition to farming, players can mine, fight, fish, and forage. Performing these tasks raises the protagonist’s proficiency which, in turn, unlocks new recipes, areas, and professions. For those who want to engage in combat, the game has a cavern full of monsters and materials. The battles themselves feature real time action. Additionally, the game has cooking and crafting systems with quite a lot to offer.

While the area was once thriving, local businesses have suffered after the arrival of a large superstore. As a result, much of the city has fallen into a state of disrepair. If they want, players can work to restore the town to its former glory. Alternatively, they can choose to side with the corporate giant and enjoy the company’s continued prosperity.

The town is home to over thirty residents who all live their own lives. Players can spend as much time with them as they want and even take part in seasonal festivities. They also have the option of pursuing love and starting a family with one of twelve citizens.

While Stardew Valley is on its way to the Switch, it is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
