Sony to pull online support from all Driveclub games next year

Sony has revealed plans to shut down the servers for all of the Driveclub games available on the PlayStation 4. This would include Driveclub and its expansions, Driveclub Bikes and Driveclub VR on March 31st, 2020. This means that all online features for these games will no longer work after the servers are shut down. Additionally, these games and all of their DLC expansions will be delisted from the PlayStation Network store later this year on August 31st.

Those of you who have purchased these games and expansions will still be able to download them and play the offline content. You will simply lose access to all of the online features including your club after the servers are shut down.

This is particularly disappointing news because these games were largely built around their online social features. In fact, there are a number of cars that can only be obtained by joining with other players and raising your club’s level.

If you want to play any of these games then I suggest you buy them the next time they are on sale; you have about a year to explore all of the online features until they are removed.

This news comes on the heels of another PS4 exclusive game being shut down. Drawn to Death, an online multiplayer shooter from developer David Jaffe was shut down last week on March 25th.
