Yesterday, Doom creator John Romero teased about unveiling a new project on the 25th anniversary of the launch of Doom. Today, we found out exactly what this project is, its called SIGIL. It’s being developed by Romero Games and is a free megawad for 1993’s Doom. SIGIL will feature 9 single player levels, as well as 9 deathmatch maps. SIGIL is a spiritual successor to the 4th episode of Doom and begins where the original game ended. SIGIL is set to release around the middle of February 2019.
Now for the biggest of Doom fans, Romero Games and Limited Run Games have collaborated together to create an amazing fan box for SIGIL. These fan boxes will feature music created by instrumental guitar wizard Buckethead with a special song recorded specially for SIGIL.
