The fine people over at Eurogamer and Gamasutra have done an excellent job reporting the details of Microsoft’s upcoming console, Project Scorpio. While the system appears to be very impressive from a technological standpoint, we still don’t know how much it will cost when it is released later this year.
An eagle-eyed shopper named DesiXBL spotted what may have been the leaked price for Scorpio. Have a look at his Tweet below.

The retailer, XtraLife, is a video games seller based in Spain and apparently listed the Scorpio at €399.99. That works out to $428.74 USD at today’s conversion rates which means a price point of $399 to $449 is certainly possible if XtraLife’s information is accurate.
However, this price could be wrong. XtraLife may simply be using that as a placeholder price or it simply could have been an error. It is worth pointing out that Digital Foundry estimated that Scorpio could cost $499 based on the system’s capabilities.
Project Scorpio is a mid-generation upgrade akin to the PlayStation 4 Pro. This new Xbox console will still run all Xbox One games and hundreds of Xbox 360 games via backwards compatibility. One of the system’s main selling points is its powerful graphics processor which is capable of rendering video games at native 4K resolution while maintaining a speed of 60 frames per second.
How much would you be willing to pay for the upcoming Xbox console. Do you think the console will launch at $399? Let us know in the comments section or on Twitter.
