Rumor: Details on Visceral’s Star Wars Game

Visceral’s Star Wars game has been in development for quite some time now; the project was announced when EA acquired the Star Wars license and has been in the dark ever since. The game is expected to launch in 2018 so we’ll start seeing more about it after the release of this year’s Battlefront II. However, we may have just gotten our first substantial information through credible leakers Star Wars MakingStarWars.net.

The game is currently known by the name “Project Ragtag”. It stars a character nicknamed Dodger; someone who dodged the Imperial draft and fled Alderaan, his home planet. Dodger will be played by Todd Stashwick (Gotham, 12 Monkeys).

Dodger becomes a part of the Outer Rim’s criminal underworld only to become a part of the Empire’s wanted “survivor list” after the destruction of Alderaan. This is obviously bad for Dodger but he makes the best of a bad situation.. The Empire’s involvement in the Outer Rim will change the underworld in new ways; some good and some bad.

Dodger’s story is put into action during a job from Jabba the Hutt; the job will pay well enough for Dodger to get himself off the list. But along the way he’ll discover Imperial secrets that will thrust Dodger down the path of heroism.

Gameplay wise, Dodger will be equipped with light whip/graple stick and a blaster. There’s said to be multiple variations of these weapons, either as unlockables in the game or as DLC.

MakingStarWars says that they will have future updates on the game, so hopefully we’ll be hearing more about the anticipated game shortly.
