Resident Evil 2 released just a few days ago and has been well-received critically. While it’s too early to know for certain, it also seems likely that the game is selling quite well. To keep the momentum going, Capcom has announced some new free DLC that will be releasing soon. Titled Resident Evil 2 – The Ghost Survivors, this free update adds three new stories from three different characters who are mentioned in the main game.
Resident Evil 2 – The Ghost Survivors details were announced on Twitter:
The Ghost Survivors is coming as a free update to #RE2 starting February 15th!
Explore “what if” stories of three unfortunate souls who never made it out of Raccoon City: The gunshop owner, the mayor's daughter, the soldier.

There are three different stories being told:
- No Time to Mourn
- Runaway
- Forgotten Soldier
Adding free DLC to a game is always great, especially with new stories like these. With Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Capcom released the post-game DLC Not a Hero for free and it seemed to garner a positive reception, so I’m happy to see them continuing that trend. There is currently no word on the length of this new DLC or any achievements/trophies and bonus item details however, we don’t have long to wait since The Ghost Survivors will release on February 15th, 2019.
With this free update coming on top of multiple playthroughs not only being encouraged but required in order to get the full story, as well as the unlockable modes like The 4th Survivor and The Tofu Survivor, Resident Evil 2 has a truly insane amount of replayability.
Resident Evil 2 released on January 25th, 2019, and is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
