With the first ever Stadia Connect premiering tomorrow, many are still wondering what games would be on the service when it releases. It now is being reported by Kotaku that Destiny 2 will be one of those games. Kotaku also reported that the game will feature cross-save support, which is something that many players have been clamoring for. Unfortunately, that may not be the case for all platforms as of yet. While cross-save support will be available for the Xbox One and PC, it appears that Sony’s participation in allowing the feature is still up in the air.
It was also reported when Destiny 2: Forsaken was being released, Bungie originally tried to enable cross-save support with the PS4 and PC. According to Jason Schreier, he says that “I heard that Bungie wanted to do character transfers for PS4, PC – before Forsaken came out – but Sony wouldn’t allow it. Sony is just like, we want people to associate Destiny with PS4, even if that means screwing over other players. “It sucks and hopefully Bungie ends it.”
Luckily there is light at the tunnel, with the ever-changing climate within the gaming industry with the emergence of cross-play I’m sure Sony will allow for cross saves. We’ll keep you up to date on what is announced at the next big Destiny event.
Let us know your thoughts about cross-save support in the comment section below and whether or not you will be playing Destiny 2 on Stadia.
