Ever since Xbox One backwards compatibility was announced, Red Dead Redemption has been one of the most requested games to join the program. The game was accidentally leaked to Xbox Preview members back in February in a “testing” stage, Microsoft quickly removed the game from the program. Fans have been desperately waiting for the game to officially become backwards compatible ever since.
Well it looks like the time is finally here, Major Nelson has just announced that Red Dead Redemption will be backwards compatible for everyone this Friday.

This is exciting news for the legions of people who’ve been waiting to play the game on their Xbox One. If you’ve been aching to head back to the game’s multiplayer, this weekend will be sure to be filled with players revisiting the legendary title just like you.
The rumor train has been gearing up stating that a sequel to Red Dead will be Rockstar’s next game. Perhaps this will be the first step in the hype gearing up for a sequel. Or perhaps the sequel could be announced on Friday alongside Redemption coming to backwards compatibility; it’s a pipe dream but crazier things have happened!
