Red Dead Redemption 2 – Rockstar Delays Sequel

Rockstar Games have announced that their highly anticipated sequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption has been delayed. The company had initially slated it’s release for Fall 2017 but they have now confirmed that it has been pushed back until Spring 2018.

In a statement released via their website the company apologised for the delay stating that “we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready”. In an attempt to appease fans, Rockstar have released five new screenshots from the forthcoming Midwestern which gives us a more accurate depiction of the world the game will revolve around.  You can view the screenshots here.

The full statement reads:

“Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.”

“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer. In the meantime, please enjoy this selection of new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available in Spring 2018 on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
