If you’ve been looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll be waiting a bit longer to play it. Rockstar Games confirmed today that it was being delayed again. Now, Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Here’s Rockstar’s statement:Â
Dear All,
Â
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
Â
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.
Â
With thanks,
Rockstar Games
Honestly though, this isn’t a bad thing at all. Far better for them to take the time they need developing the game than deliver a subpar product at release. I have to imagine other publishers that had games planned for October aren’t too happy about this however, as Red Dead Redemption 2 is sure to sell like mad, if the previous game and GTA V are any indicators. In the meantime, start practicing those six-shooter skills and dust off your saddles. You’ve got a few more months.
