Rainbow Six Siege Map Changes Have Been Reversed

Rainbow Six Siege has no doubt become a titan in Ubisoft’s lineup. After a lackluster launch, Ubisoft put in the work and built a massive community that is very passionate about the game. However, a recent move caused a lot of uproar within the community when Ubisoft announced changes to the maps, due to attempting to sell the game in China. These map changes were to adhere to the strict content restrictions that many companies face when bringing their game to the Chinese market. The community saw this as censorship and voiced both in forums and on social media their displeasure with the changes to fit China’s ludicrous laws. It appears that Ubisoft not only listens to their fans in regards to what features and characters they want in the game but as well when it comes to the games whole direction. In a developer blog post today, it was announced that they would be reverting all these changes back to the original map designs due to player and community feedback.

“We have been following the conversation with our community closely over the past couple of weeks, alongside regular discussions with our internal Ubisoft team, and we want to ensure that the experience for all our players, especially those that have been with us from the beginning, remains as true to the original artistic intent as possible”

It is always great to see developers that understand how important the community is to their game, and players voicing their opinions in a productive way. Now that this issue has been resolved Ubisoft can continue to move forward as they continue to build Rainbow Six Siege more and more with every update.
