Some strange but exciting news came from director Ridley Scott today as he has confirmed that the Prometheus films would eventually tie-in with the Alien saga. The strange bit? Apparently any tie-in won’t happen for at least 1 or maybe even 2 more movies! A confident statement then after it was unclear at one point whether we would even get a sequel at all. In the interview with German site FilmFutter, Ridely Scott had this to say:
Yes [it will connect to Alien], but it won’t be in the next one. It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the Alien franchise… The whole point of it is to explain the Alien franchise and to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself. I always thought of the Alien as kind of a piece of bacterial warfare. I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction.
Prometheus 2 will star Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace, and is set to hit cinemas in May of 2017. For more movie, TV and gaming news till then we have you covered here at TiCGN!
