Horizon Zero Dawn sales

Horizon Zero Dawn sales have topped 7.6 million copies

It’s been one year since Guerrilla Games’ RPG, Horizon Zero Dawn, was released. Garnering critical praise, the game sold extremely well, and PlayStation Blog has confirmed today that Horizon Zero Dawn sales have passed 7.6 million copies.

Herman Hulst, Guerrilla Games co-founder. had this to say:

“We had huge ambition for Horizon Zero Dawn and as we approached the launch we knew people were excited, but to see sales of this volume is truly mind blowing. Since launch, millions of players have joined Aloy on a quest to discover the secrets of the old ones. We hope they enjoy playing Horizon Zero Dawn as much as we enjoyed making it.”

To celebrate Horizon Zero Dawn‘s first anniversary, and its fantastic sales, some new PS4 avatars and a PS4 theme are being given away on the PS Store, for free.

Horizon Zero Dawn was a fantastic game, one that I truly loved playing. It’s great to see it sell this well, all but guaranteeing a sequel. While Guerrilla Games has plenty of things they can improve or fix in the next go-around, I think it’s safe to say Killzone is becoming a distant memory and the studio’s future, as of now, is on the horizon.
