This weekend the long awaited Quentin Tarantino movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was released. The movie didn’t take over the top spot, it did gain a healthy amount of cash from the box office. It grossed $40.3 million this weekend as the movie has been getting some good reviews. This is the best opening domestically for a Quentin Tarantino movie, Inglourious Bastards was close with $38 million.
The Lion King grossed $75.5 million this weekend as Disney continues to destroy the box office. Next weekend the movie will cross that billion dollar mark as it sits at $962 million world-wide. The Lion King has brought in $350 million domestically as it will just keep getting more money. Spider-Man: Far From Home was the first Spider-Man movie to cross that billion dollar mark. Disney has currently grossed $8 billion this year and we haven’t even seen the new Star Wars movie yet.
