New ID@Xbox Release This Week: The Swapper

Per the ID@Xbox page a new indie title will be hitting the Xbox One this Friday June 5, 2015. The Swapper from Curve Digital, who’s pervious release include OlliOlli and Thomas Was Alone, is a puzzle platformer set in a very atmospheric setting. The outer space and alien-ish background are accompanied by a unique atmosphere which “is constructed using clay models and other everyday materials.”

The key mechanic of your unnamed hero is that you can clone yourself and swap control between your clones to solve puzzles. The movement of one clone causes the other clones to mirror you. The crazy aspect of this is that you are sacrificing your clones to get to the goal of each puzzle. For example if you need to drop from a high position you clone yourself in mid air to a position closer to the ground. However when you complete your descent all your clones fall and rag doll to their deaths.

Price has not been mention yet but it plans to drop this Friday. The game looks very cool and unique. The very tranquil tone, unique art style and complex puzzles should appeal to many gamers.

Check it out this Friday on Xbox One. Here is some gameplay from the PC below:
