Electronic Arts Acquires Studio Started By Ex-Bungie Founder

Electronic Arts has acquired Industrial Toys, a mobile game developer based in Pasadena, California that specializes in first person shooter games that can be played on smartphones. If you haven’t heard of Industrial Toys before, you are probably familiar with the studio’s pedigree. The company was co-founded by Alex Seropian, the man who also founded Bungie Studios.

The goal of Industrial Toys was to create mobile first person shooter experiences which turned out to be quite challenging due to control issues.

Samantha Ryan, senior vice president and group general manager of EA’s Worldwide Studios group commented on the acquisition. “Creating breakthrough games takes passionate developers and incredible creativity, and each time we’ve worked with the Industrial Toys team, we’ve been inspired by their unique approach,” she said.
