Today, some new Shadow of the Tomb Raider gameplay was unveiled, showing off Lara in Paititi, one of the places she’ll be exploring quite a bit in her newest adventure. During the gameplay walkthrough, several new features are shown off and explained in detail.
Take a look at the new Shadow of the Tomb Raider gameplay below:
This time around, you can toggle whether or not NPCs speak in their native language, allowing you to choose between an easier to understand experience or a more authentic one. Developers at Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics had previously described Shadow of the Tomb Raider as a hub world and that’s certainly evident here. Lara can now trade different items for other things she needs, like crafting materials. You can adjust the difficulty of different game aspects individually – for example, setting puzzles to hard removes the white paint (an open world staple) that usually tells you where to climb. Crypts have also been expanded and are now as complex as tombs used to be.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider releases on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 on September 14th, 2018. If you’d like to learn more about the game, you can read my impressions when I played it at E3 2018 right here.
