It is hard to believe that it has been nearly three months since the shared world pirate adventure Sea of thieves has been released. After years of teasing the game was finally released and while most players found it to be very fun, there was a constant criticism of Sea of Thieves – the game simply did not have enough enough content to keep gamers playing for long even with the first expansion, The Hungering Deep. It seems that Rare has addressed that criticism with a trailer shown at Microsoft’s E3 2018 conference. The trailer shows two expansions that will soon be released for Sea of Thieves.
The first expansion is called Cursed Sails and will be out in July of this month. The second expansion announced today is Forsaken Shores which will be released in September. Check out the trailer for both expansions below:
Let’s talk about Cursed Sails first. As if the Kraken, the Megalodon and all of those pesky pirate rivals were not enough, this expansion will bring forth legions of NPC crews. Look out for derelict ships piloted by the undead.
We don’t know too much about Forsaken Shores but it will expand the map and add some new terrain – specifically, volcanoes. We think there will likely be single player campaigns for both expansions.
