The widely popular anime film Your Name is getting a live action Hollywood adaptation. Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot will working together to get the film completed.
This move is the highest grossing anime film of all time, earning 355.3 million world-wide as of today. The next closest anime is Spirited away which released in 2005, that earned 289 million. The movie follows the story of Taki, a high school student in Japan and Matsuha a high school girl who dreams of living in Tokyo. One day they both watched a comet flying in the sky and they began to switch bodies.
Most fans have been completely turned off just from the sound of a live action adaptation. From Dragon Ball, Ghost in a Shell, and the most recent Death Note. Though each one may have been a let down to fans, it’s always best to wait for the finished product. So don’t be so quick to put down this latest entry of anime adaptations. We should all wait until its released to give a final verdict. We also have a review of the film. So check out how we felt about the anime.
