Marvel’s Spider-Man has been a massive success for PlayStation and for Insomniac Games. In a press release, Sony confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man has sold over 9 million copies.
Here’s the information:Â
- More than 50.7 million PS4 games were sold through globally during the 2018 holiday season, which sums up to 876 million PS4 games cumulatively sold through worldwide as of December 31, 2018.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man, launched in September 2018, has cumulatively sold through more than 9 million copies worldwide as of November 25, 2018.
Before this recent update, the last numbers we had were close to launch, when Sony shared that the game had crossed 3.3 million copies sold in just three days. Marvel’s Spider-Man was also the top-selling game in the September 2018 NPD list. As of November 2018, it was the sixth-bestselling game of 2018 in the USA.
These kinds of numbers are absolutely fantastic. Insomniac Games and Sony have a huge success on their hands. With the next generation of console hardware around the corner, we’ll likely see a sequel in the next few years.
